Vehicles

HANTSAR currently operates one vehicle; an Iveco LWB Hi-Top van converted in to a mobile office providing communications and mapping to our search teams. In addition it carries search equipment, area lighthing, stretchers and first aid equipment.

We are trying to obtain a second vehicle for the use of deploying teams and for use in attending callouts. We are looking at a vehicle with 4x4 capability with enough seats to carry a search team and that can also be used as an ambulance. If you would like to make a donation towards the cost of obtaining such a vehicle we would very much welcome hearing from you.

Equipment

Every team member when they deploy needs to be self sufficient for up to 8 hours.

We provide every operational member with a uniform including waterproof jacket, softshell fleece and hi-visability jacket. This costs HANTSAR around £150 per volunteer.

Base

HANTSAR currently operates out of a storage unit in Netley provided by Hampshire Constabulary.

Ideally we would like to have a small industrial type unit with shutter doors and an office space, however until that point this meets our needs.
