History

2011

HANTSAR decided to adopt the ALSAR national logo with the county name in place of its existing logo. It is hoped this will help move the team forward recognised as both a local team working as part of a national organisation.

2010

The team moved from Ready Steady Store in Eastleigh to the Hampshire Police Training College at Netley. Late in 2010 two Land Rover Defender 110's were purchased by the team; one planned to be positioned on the Isle of Wight.

2008

Following a search in Parkhurst Forest an Island team was formed with an initial membership of 12.

2007

The incident control vehicle kindly donated by Bolton Mountain Rescue was replaced using £35,000 of National Lottery funding

2003

The first Search Technician course attended by HANTSAR members was 14th February 2003 and HANTSAR went operational in May 2003.

2002

HANTSAR formed in 2002 with the original Chair being Catherine Crouch. Catherine was the fire officer based at Lyndhurst who got the whole thing off the ground. The first meeting of potential  members was in December 2002, although the organisation was not formally set up until January 2003.
